Exploration Potential

A1 Minerals is planning continued exploration programs on its extensive BrightStar tenement holdings to sustain a long term mining operation and to progress the Company towards becoming a successful gold miner with a large gold resource base in the Laverton District of Western Australia.

The Company has considerably improved its global resource by combining successful exploration with judicious purchasing of gold assets for the BrightStar Gold Project. Since completing the Project’s Pre- Feasibility Study, the Company’s emphasis has moved towards Gold production in 2010.

Pre-Feasibility Study

The mining studies to date, demonstrate strong positive cash flows from production and low capital costs at the BrightStar’s Alpha and Beta deposits, utilising A1's 100% owned CIL treatment plant.

Subsequent to this study, A1 acquired additional gold assets and conducted successful exploration, significantly enhancing the Company’s gold resources.  The Company has appointed an experienced team of employees and contractors to complete the feasibility study and usher the BrightStar Gold Project into production.

Summary of Prospects Comprising the BrightStar Gold Project
Drilling at Alpha
Drilling at Alpha
BrightStar Alpha

The BrightStar Alpha Resource is located approximately 30km southeast of Laverton infrastructure and 15kms from the BrightStar Beta Resource. The majority of the Alpha resource is generally a shallow plunging shoot extending from surface that is geologically constrained within moderate to steeply dipping chloritised shears.

Alpha is densely drilled within the southern 600 metres of the 2 kilometre long strike-length. Here, most of the resource is near surface (<100 metres) and drilling is on a 20 metre sectional basis, in some cases, 10 metres.  The drill density has provided a higher level of confidence in the geological interpretation and grade estimation where mineralisation continuity is well demonstrated, open at depth and at width.

Highlights
  • Open pit mining
  • Mining Lease Granted
  • Native Title Approval
  • Best RC drill intercept 12 metres @ 47.7g/t gold

at Beta
BrightStar Beta

Located 40km southeast of Laverton. Upon completion of the Feasibility Study, it is the Company’s intent that the BrightStar Beta Resource will be selectively mined as a profitable small, high grade open pit operation in concert with the BrightStar Alpha. Highlights

  • Open pit mining
  • Mining Lease granted
  • Best RC drill intercept 22metres @ 28.6g/t gold
BrightStar Gamma (Picture 5)

Located 45km south of Laverton, the BrightStar Gamma project includes the old high grade gold mines of the Edith Hope and Edinborough Castle. Historic production was at a grade of 19.1g/t and 67.6g/t respectively. The Company plans to drill out small resources on these tenements to supplement ore feed at the nearby Beta treatment plant location.

Highlights
  • Small open pit mining potential
  • Mining Lease granted
  • Best RC drill intercept 2 metres @ 27.0g/t gold
BrightStar Delta (Picture 6)

The BrightStar Delta project location includes the old Cork Tree Well deposits which were previously mined between 1985 and 1988, producing 699,115 tonnes @ 2.3g/t Au. Current inferred resource estimates for the Delta mineralisation and remnant mineralisation in the saddle area between the two present pits and an area one kilometre to the north at 12200N, total 243,000t @ 2.8g/t Au for 22,500 ounces.  This includes high grade mineralisation in dolerite which A1 plans to expand with further drilling.

Highlights
  • Large water resource in old pits
  • Open pit mining
  • Underground mining potential
  • Granted Mining Leases
  • Best RC drill intercept 7metres @ 66.2g/t gold
BrightStar Epsilon (Picture 7)

The BrightStar Epsilon Project combines the old Ben Hur and King of Creation deposits currently containing inferred resources of 2.94 million tonnes @ 2.2g/t Au and 0.44 million tonnes @ 1.4g/t Au respectively. The King of Creation pit was mined in the early 1990’s producing 811,500 tonnes at 2.2g/t Au.

Highlights
  • Large water resource in old pit
  • Open pit mining
  • Best RC drill intercept 4 metres @ 24.8 g/t gold
  • Best width RC drill intercept 43 metres @ 2.0 g/t gold in quartz dolerite
Drilling at Alpha
Zeta Pit
BrightStar Zeta

BrightStar Zeta mining lease (previously Anchor) covers an area of 9,365 hectares orientated over seven kilometres of a north-south trending ultramafic contact which hosts high grade gold mineralisation. Production from the Anchor extremely high grade mine in 2001 totalled 28,936 tonnes grading 25.8g/t Au for 22,892 ounces. An indicated resource of 94,461 tonnes at 5.9g/t Au remains beneath the existing pit and mineralisation is open at depth. Good potential also exists to define other high grade deposits along the strike of the contact zone.

Highlights
  • Open pit mining
  • Mining Lease granted
  • Best RC drill intercept 8metres @ 35.6g/t gold
  • Channel sample along east pit wall 16 metres @ 16g/t
Drilling at Alpha
Theta – Historic Workings
BrightStar Theta

The Theta Project comprises two prospects, Windsor Well and Kismet, both containing numerous old workings dating back to the 1890’s.

Highlights
  • Exploration potential for open pit and underground deposits
  • Best RC drill intercept 4 metres @ 14g/t gold

BrightStar Eta

BrightStar Eta includes, The Mistake, Mistake South and Ogilvies Mining Centre prospects north of Laverton. At Mistake previous drilling by Newmont outlined an inferred resource of 239,000 tonnes @ 2.8g/t that can be improved with further drilling by A1. Mistake South has 264,500 tonnes @ 6.7 g/t based on historic drill data; and on Ogilvies Mining Centre which requires further drilling there is an inferred resource of 231,000 tonnes @ 1.5 g/t/

Highlights
  • Open pit mining potential
  • Mining Lease granted
  • Best RC drill Intercept 4 metres @ 16.3 g/t gold
  • 2km Strike of old mine shafts
